Whether you are a new or seasoned homeowner, you may not be aware of the impact the air conditioner has on your health, comfort and productivity. We get a lot of questions about how best to operate this essential system, and have compiled a list of common questions and answers to help you get the most from your AC.
Am I supposed to have my AC system checked regularly?
Yes! We recommend scheduling an inspection of your AC twice a year. Regular maintenance can help avoid breakdowns, increase the efficiency of the unit, and extend the life of your cooling system.
Do I need to clean the condenser unit?
Absolutely! We recommend that the condenser coil and the evaporator coil be cleaned once a year. But don’t worry, this is something we can do for you when you enroll in our Premier Maintenance Club.
What’s the best temperature to keep my home at?
We recommend to find a temperature that is most comfortable for everyone in your household, then limit any changes to within 2-3 degrees.
Why is my thermostat blank?
This is usually something as simple as the furnace door switch not being shut all the way, or the result of a tripped breaker. Give us a call at (480) 885-COOL for assistance from one of our AC technicians.
Should I turn my AC off when I leave my home?
No! By turning the system off, your home will absorb heat, and make it harder for the system to cool your home when you return.
How often should I change my filters?
We recommend changing your filters once a month. A clean filter helps improve efficiency of the unit, and makes it easier for the unit to cool your home.
My home has a lot of dust during the summer months, and it send my allergy symptoms through the roof! Is there anything I can do to help get rid of the dust?
There absolutely is! We recommend a Reme Halo, a UV light system that not only kills viruses, bacteria and mold, but also helps get rid of dust. A Reme Halo charges dust and other airborne particles with positive ions to make the particles bigger. This makes it easier for your filter to pick up dust that would otherwise be recirculated throughout your home.
